Survey of Russia - ASEAN trade and economic relations

As part of the research on a "Strategy of Trade and Investment Cooperation for Russia - ASEAN Dialogue Partnership”, commissioned by the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation, the ASEAN Centre at the Moscow State University of Foreign Relations is conducting a survey of companies directly engaged in bilateral economic activities both in Russia and ASEAN member countries to obtain first-hand information on challenges and prospects of trade and economic exchanges. Russia is to think and act in line with the rest of Asia-Pacific

Our correspondent Mikhail Tsyganov met in Dr. Victor Sumsky, the Director of the recently established ASEAN Centre in MGIMO University of Moscow, in Ubud on the island of Bali. Dr. Sumsky came to Bali’s 'cultural capital' to take part in a meeting of experts organized by the Council for Security Cooperation in the Asia Pacific (CSAP) to discuss the future of this forum and to exchange opinions on the dynamics of the regional situation.


Just Published in Singapore: “ASEAN-Russia: Foundations and Future Prospects”

This volume is based on the papers presented at the conference jointly organized by ASEAN Studies Centre of the Institute of Southeast Asian Studies (ISEAS, Singapore) and MGIMO. Being dedicated to the 15th anniversary of Russia-ASEAN dialogue partnership, the book offers a comprehensive analysis of their cooperation and outlines its future directions.

A delegation of Indonesian public figures and journalists headed by Mr. Putut Prabantoro, Chairman of the Ecayastra Unmada Movement (The Spirit of the United Nation), visited the ASEAN Centre on June 18.
