On the 8th of October, a delegation from Malaysia visited the university. They were received by the Vice-Rector for International Cooperation and Public Relations Andrei Silantiev and Director of the ASEAN Centre Victor Sumsky.
Vice-Rector Silantiev and Dr. Sumsky answered several questions about the history and current state of the university, the English-languge Master's programmes offered to international students at MGIMO, and the priorities and future plans of the ASEAN Centre.

Brunei Day was held on 30 September in MGIMO. The participants of this event had the opportunity to interact with the Ambassador of Brunei Darussalam to Russia, H.E. Haini Hashim, take in the sights of Brunei through a photo exhibition, and learn more about this unique country in general.
The event began with an unofficial meeting between the Ambassador and students, who were studying Indonesian and Malay as foreign languages, in the ASEAN Centre. They talked about how their knowledge of these languages provided ample opportunities for studying the region, and understanding current regional developments.

A delegation of young diplomats from Myanmar visited MGIMO on 26 September 2013. They came to Moscow as part of the programme 'Generation Next', which aims to introduce young foreign representativeswho have the potential to become prominent administrators, politicians, businessmen and academics to contemporary Russia. This programme is organised by Rossotrudnichestvo.

On the 18th of September 2013, a meeting with a group of diplomats from Myanmar was held in the ASEAN Centre.The diplomats were in Moscow to attend an advanced training course at the Diplomatic Academy of the Russian Foreign Ministry.
The diplomats were welcomed by the Vice-Rector for International Cooperation and Public Relations, Andrei Silantiev. Vice-Rector Silantiev told the guests about the history and current state of MGIMO, its structure, and its experience in organising various international educational, academic and business forums. The latter were of particular interest to the Myanmarese delegation, as Myanmar will assume chairmanship of ASEAN in 2014.
