Requirements: a 3 minute (or under) video in English with Russian subtitles or in Russian with English subtitles that explains and inspires ASEAN and Russia to learn more about each other

On April 1st and April 2nd the annual meetings of the ASEAN-Russia Joint Planning and Management Committee (ARJMC) and the ASEAN-Russia Joint Cooperation Committee (ARJCC) dedicated to the current Russia-ASEAN Strategic Partnership and its future prospects took place at the ASEAN Secretariat in Jakarta. The meetings discussed and approved the Annual Report on the Operation of the ASEAN Centre in 2018, and its Indicative Work Programme in 2019.
On April 2nd, the ASEAN Centre’s Director Dr. Victor Sumsky, who participated in the above mentioned meetings, gave a lecture on “Developing ASEAN-Russia Strategic Partnership in a Troubled World” at the Centre for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) in Jakarta.

On April 2nd, a meeting with Mr. Bennett Murray, the Bureau Chief for the Deutsche Presse-Agentur (German Press Agency) in Hanoi, took place at MGIMO. The meeting was moderated by Mr. Anton Tsvetov, the Center for Strategic Research.
Mr. Anton Tsvetov welcomed guests and briefly described the lecturer’s varied career and his journalistic practice in Southeast Asia. Mr. Bennett Murray served as a reporter in Myanmar, Cambodia, and Vietnam. His articles are published in such leading international newspapers as Foreign Policy, The Diplomat, Guardian, Southeast Asia Globe, Politico and South China Morning Post.

On March 18th, Associate Professor of the Department of Asian and African Studies, Research Fellow of the Centre for Comprehensive Chinese Studies and Regional Projects at MGIMO University Dr. Ksenia Efremova gave a lecture on the current socio-political situation in Myanmar.
Dr. Ksenia Efremova briefly described the main outcomes of her recent research visit to Myanmar, where she gave a lecture on “Russia’s Turn to the East: Implications for Myanmar and Southeast Asia” at the Myanmar Institute for Strategic and International Studies (MISIS).

February 26, Indonesian journalist and scholar Professor Dr. Tjipta Lesmana gave a lecture on new prospects of Indonesian-Russian Relations at MGIMO.
ASEAN Centre Senior Expert Dr. Ilya Dyachkov welcomed the guest. In his welcoming speech Dr. Ilya Dyachkov briefly described the the lecturer’s varied career and the ASEAN Centre’s activities to support Russian-Indonesian cooperation.
