On October 11, 2023 at 14:30 (Moscow), H.E. Mai Sayavongs, Director General of the Institute of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Lao PDR, will deliver a lecture on Russia-Laos relations as well as the Lao PDR’s role in ASEAN. The lecture will be held in the framework of the ASEAN Academic Days organized by the ASEAN Centre.

In 1988, H.E. Mai Sayavongs graduated from Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO). He completed his second MA in Asia and International Studies from Griffith University in Australia in 1996.

He spent many years working at the Lao PDR Embassy in the USA as a Third Secretary then Second Secretary, Minister Counselor and Deputy Chief of Mission. Since 2015 H.E. Mai Sayavongs served as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic to the USА, Canada and Mexico, with residence in Washington DC.

The lecture will be held in the offline format.
