How Southeast Asia is Coping with COVID-19?

On April 30th the Stimson Center (the USA) held a webinar focused on Southeast Asian countries’ responses to the COVID-19. The ASEAN Centre’s Senior Expert Dr. Ekaterina Koldunova participated in the event.

The speakers analyzed the scope of the pandemic threat to and responses of four Southeast Asian states, namely Singapore, Vietnam, Indonesia, and the Philippines. Among the topics discussed were the latest COVID-19 statistics (and its reliability) in the Southeast Asia area and the measures taken by the governments to limit the pandemic.

The participants also shared their views on how ASEAN may develop a regional response to such threats as the pandemic COVID-19. The discussion was followed by Q&A session.
