"In the Land of the Emerald Buddha" exhibition grand opening in Kemerovo


On August 11, 2022, the Kemerovo Regional Museum of Fine Arts hosted the grand opening of the exhibition "In the Land of the Emerald Buddha", which is dedicated to the 125th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the Russian Federation and the Kingdom of Thailand.

The opening ceremony was attended by the Minister of Culture and National Policy of Kuzbass Ms. Anna Yudina, Deputy Chairman of the Kuzbass Parliament Mr. Yuri Skvortsov, as well as by the exhibition curators – Academician of the Russian Academy of Arts Mr. Vladimir Anisimov, Distinguished Artist of the Russian Federation, Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Arts Ms. Olga Yausheva and Academician of the Russian Academy of Arts Mr. Mikhail Shishin.

The exposition is a continuation of a unique, academic, trans-Asian, art and educational project, providing for exhibitions in such 17 major cities of the Urals, Siberia, and the Far East as: Nizhny Tagil, Yekaterinburg, Tyumen, Omsk, Novosibirsk, Kemerovo, Novokuznetsk, Barnaul, Krasnoyarsk, Irkutsk, Ulan-Ude, Chita, Yakutsk, Komsomolsk-on-Amur, Khabarovsk, and Vladivostok.

During creative expeditions to Thailand, famous Russian artists created numerous masterpieces inspired by the unique culture of this ancient country. The artworks are made in various types and techniques of fine art, the best of which formed the basis of the exhibition "In the Land of the Emerald Buddha". The exhibition will run daily till October 16.
