From February to April 2022, Danil Piskunov, Angelina Leonova, and Maria Levchenko, BA students of the Department of Theory and History of International Relations, RUDN University will join the ASEAN Centre as interns.

During their internship at the Centre, the students will be involved in the organization of several events and overall Centre’s activities, as well as prepare translations to the ASEAN Centre’s Website and its social media accounts.

Let us introduce the ASEAN Centre interns.

Mr. Danil Piskunov

3rd year BA student of the Department of Theory and History of International Relations, People’s Friendship University of Russia.

Topic of the Bachelor’s thesis: “The Regional Dimension of the US and the PRC Technological Competition”

Professional experience:

  • Publications in leading peer-reviewed academic journals, including those indexed by Scopus and WoS and included in the list of journals recommended by Russia’s Higher Attestation Commission, and collective monographs;
  • Participation in the research project “G2 Research Project” with the preparation of the analytical report for Federal executive authorities;
  • Internship in the Russian-Asian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (RAUIE);
  • Participation in the National Youth Educational Forum “Territoriya Smyslov” (Territory of Meanings), International Forum “Foros-2021”, Federal Forum “Liga Forum”.

Research interests: international information security, global Internet governance, technologies, and security

Ms. Angelina Leonova

3rd year BA student of the Department of Theory and History of International Relations, People’s Friendship University of Russia.

Topic of the Bachelor’s thesis: “Russia-Chinese Relations in the Humanitarian Realm”

Professional experience:

  • Participation in the Conference on contemporary International Relations, National Research University Higher School of Economics (January 2022);
  • Participation in the Seminar on “Dilemmas of Modern Peacekeeping” (April 2021);
  • Participation in the conference “New Approaches to the Study of ‘Soft Power’ in International Relations” (May 2021).

Languages: English, Chinese

Research interests: China-ASEAN cooperation, Singapore’s foreign policy and its role in the ASEAN community building, international relations in Southeast Asia.

Ms. Maria Levchenko

4th year BA student of the Department of Theory and History of International Relations, People’s Friendship University of Russia.

Topic of the Bachelor’s thesis: “China – Indochina Peninsula Relations (1993-2021)”

Professional experience:

  • Member of the Russian delegation at the Russian-Vietnamese Women Forum (20-23 July 2019), Russian-Vietnamese Youth Forum in Vietnam (23-29 July 2019);
  • Participation in the international academic conferences, forums (e.g. online camp “2021 Chinese Bridge - Long live friendship of Russia-China” (23-31 October 2021);
  • Author of a number research publications;
  • Internship at the representative office of Petroleum and Gas Corporation of Vietnam (PETROVIETNAM) in Moscow (07.02.2021 - 08.03.2021);
  • Internship in ERASMUS+ – Project Management in English at Babeș-Bolyai University (Romania) (July 2021);
  • Participation in the meeting of former employees of JV “Vietsovpetro” with the Vietnamese President Nguyen Xuan Phuc in Joint Stock Comapny “Zarubezhneft” (December 2, 2021).
  • Organizer of events at the RUDN and MGIMO.
