On November 9, 2023, the opening ceremony of the exhibition “Expedition Diary” took place at the museum and exhibition complex of the Russian Academy of Arts. The ASEAN Centre provides informational support to this exhibition.

The exhibition visitors were introduced to the paintings, graphic works and the works of applied art made by academicians of the Russian Academy of Arts Mr. Rustam Yaushev, Mr. Vladimir Anisimov and corresponding member Ms. Olga Yausheva during their expeditions to ASEAN countries.

At the opening ceremony the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to the Russian Federation H.E. Sasivat Wongsinsawat, Ambassador of the Republic of Singapore H.E. Mark Neo, Ambassador of Brunei Darussalam H.E. H.E. Pengiran Husaini Alauddin, Deputy Chief of Mission of the Republic of Indonesia Mr. Berlian Helmy and other ASEAN diplomats welcomed the event’s guests. They expressed their gratitude to the academicians of the Russian Academy of Arts who took part in this project for their contribution in developing cultural dialogue between Russia and ASEAN countries. Mr. Vladimir Anisimov, in turn, emphasized the distinguished guests’ and the ASEAN Centre’s assistance during the creation of this unique masterpieces’ collection, that captures the diversity of life and nature in Southeast Asia.

The exhibition’s opening ceremony was attended by the Director of the ASEAN Center Dr. Ekaterina Koldunova, Deputy Director Dr. Valeria Vershinina, Senior Expert Dr. Victor Sumsky, ASEAN Centre’s Expert Ms. Kira Tabunova as well as MGIMO students studying Southeast Asian languages.

The exhibition “Expedition Diary” will last in Moscow from November 10 to December 3, 2023.
