Holds a B.A. Degree in History, Asian and African Studies from the Institute of Practical Oriental Studies. In 2017 graduated with the M.A. Degree in International Regional Studies from the MGIMO University. In 2014 she had a one-year internship at Hanoi State University, Vietnam. In May 2021 she received a PhD Degree in International Relations (Cand.Pol.Sc.), the PhD thesis on «Regional Integration Organizations in the Foreign Policy of the Middle Powers: the Сase of Vietnam».

Valeria Vershinina speaks English and Vietnamese.

Her research interests include the role of the middle powers in the international relations, Vietnam’s foreign policy, ASEAN, Russia-Vietnam and Russia-ASEAN relations, integration trends in Southeast Asia.
